In a heartwarming initiative to foster inclusivity and empower youth, PAFID, Imus Dambalasik Lions Club and Be That Spark Inc. collaborated with a special education (SPED) school in La Union, spearheaded by the dedicated SPED teacher, Teacher Rose. With the gracious approval of the school's benevolent principal and a warm reception from the entire faculty and staff, the foundation embarked on a transformative journey of "Sparkle of Inclusion."

This uplifting event, held on February 15, 2024, aimed to create bridges of understanding and camaraderie, particularly with the deaf students and those with special needs. In partnership with PAFID's Camp Pag-ibig: Inclusion for Empowerment and Lions Club International Imus Dambalasik Project for Youth, the day was filled with activities designed to celebrate diversity and unity.

Generously sponsored by Charms and Wins, Perfect Scents Depot, and STARS Tutorial, the program commenced with heartfelt opening remarks from the school's principal, setting the tone for a day of joy and connection. The students, eager to showcase their talents, presented special performances that captivated the audience and stirred hearts.

The school’s sign language group “Talking Hands” welcomed the team with with their heartwarming rendition of the song I Offer my Life to You.

The co founders of the organization, Charmaine and Mylene, gave a message to the students followed by a story telling activity led by Hannah and Charmaine.

Throughout the day, students engaged in interactive games, received thoughtful gifts, and delighted in delicious treats provided by Jollibee. A small salo-salo was enjoyed by the faculty and staff at the end of the program to celebrate the success of the activity. The atmosphere was brimming with laughter and camaraderie as barriers melted away, replaced by bonds of friendship and understanding.

The BTS group of the Be That Spark Foundation, led by Co-founders Mylene and Charmaine, along with Board Secretary Hannah, Edwin, Norman, and Eunice, played an instrumental role in orchestrating the event's success. Their dedication and passion for inclusivity fueled every aspect of the program, leaving a lasting impact on all involved.

Following the festivities, participants had the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of La Union, guided by the ever-supportive Teacher Rose. It was a day filled with profound moments of connection and empowerment, reminding everyone of the transformative power of inclusion and compassion.

As the sun set on this unforgettable day, the Sparkle of Inclusion illuminated hearts and minds, leaving a legacy of unity and acceptance that will continue to shine brightly in the community and beyond.
